Today we had a very good hour long presentation from the Forest History Center in Grand Rapids. They did an animal presentation on the Web of Life. Ask your child about their part in the web.

Today is midquarter of the third marking period. Midquarter reports will be sent home today.
Skating on Wednesday (today) and Friday from 10:00 – 11:00, our last day of skating will be on Wednesday, March 2nd – please come skate with us or just come to tie skates and watch.

Spelling…. This week we are doing some spelling review, NO TEST.
Word a Day… WAD this week on Wednesday (2 words) and Thursday.
Reading… we are using our Guided Reading groups and daily five reading activities everyday. This is I Love to Read Month – please look at the calendar that was sent home as a reminder of fun dress up days and other activities to celebrate reading.
Math… We are working on Chapter 6, math functions. I have started doing a math fact test everyday. They are not for a grade or any prize, we just all need to practice the facts. You should find completed tests in your child’s folder.
Grammar… we are working on a unit on Telling a Story and practicing punctuation.
Social Studies/Science…
SS…we will work on Map Skills this week and a Time For Kids.
SCI I am in the process of getting a science project ready, please watch for details to follow.
Show and tell … Girls only on Friday.

Thursday 2-3-11
Tomorrow is Pajama Day and Really Reading Day. Students may wear pj's to school and bring lots of books, a blanket and an an extra snack for some afternoon fun!!
We will skate in the morning - from 10:00 - 11:00.
Math - 5.7 today and MCA test practice
Spelling - finished the packet on contractions
